I have been to this clinic a few times for different things in three years that I have lived here and every time they have been patient and attentive. I appreciate the service! There is a hold for a deposit for private pay patients that is around 1k USD but it is immediately reimbursed when you check out. I speak decent Spanish so I use Spanish but there are some doctors that speak English.
They gave the correct diagnosis but overall the care was not good. I came in with extreme pain and a high blood pressure of 180/130 and did have my blood pressure checked until 10 hours later. I'll just say I think it was the best choice for me to return to the US for my surgery.
I went in for reactions because of an insect bite which was aggravated by a chronic disease. Doctor Santiago Zapata was prompt, very proficient in English, and treated me with the utmost respect. His ordered the appropriate treatment, and I went back to my hotel several hours later feeling much better.
All my experiences here have been very positive. The only thing that was strange was my first visit the doctor ordered a drug for me, but I had to go down to the pharmacy and purchase and pick it up for him to administer it. I’m not sure if that’s just how things work in Medellin, but other than that it’s clean and has every type of doctor all in one building. So no need to run all over town. I go to physical therapy, dentist, oxygenation, and more all in this one building.
DON’T COME HERE IF YOU ARE FACING AN EMERGENCY. They are really inefficient. I was feeling terrible and I had to wait for hours. A guy called Alcides, who is a receptionist, proudly said “The system is collapsed, we are taking from 3 to 4 hours to handle an emergency”.
