We had a great experience in Dönyagöz Hospital Etiler. The surgery went smooth and the staff was friendly. A special thank to Hamide, our Support / Translator, she managed the full procedere in a professional way and was close to every step we took.

I waited a month after my laser procedure before writing this review. Despite reading some mediocre reviews about this hospital and its doctors, I decided to take the risk and fly from the UK to Turkey for my laser eye surgery. I had a morning appointment on Saturday with Prof. Anil Kubaloğlu. I arrived at the hospital at 9:00 AM and first went to registration on the 4th floor, where they took my details and assigned me a translator. We then went to the 2nd floor for extensive tests and examinations. These took around 40–45 minutes, and about 15 minutes later I was seen by the professor. He explained that the initial test results looked good, but that he needed to dilate my pupils with eye drops to examine my vision more thoroughly. After waiting about 30 minutes, he carried out a second examination and then explained the SMILE laser procedure in detail. I agreed to proceed, and the surgery was scheduled for that afternoon. I had some time to return to my hotel to collect my belongings, as I needed to stay in the hospital overnight for observation. My surgery was scheduled for 2:00 PM, but I went into the operating theatre at around 3:00 PM. I didn’t mind the delay, as there were many patients and these things can happen. In the theatre, Prof. Anil talked me through every step of the SMILE laser procedure, which really helped put me at ease. The entire procedure took about five minutes, and both eyes were done quickly and smoothly. Afterwards, I was taken to my hospital room, where a nurse came in every hour to administer eye drops until around 11:00 PM. Since the surgery was done on a Saturday and the doctors don’t work on Sundays, I was asked to return on Monday morning for a follow-up examination. I arrived at 9:00 AM, and Prof. Anil saw me at 9:15. He checked my vision, confirmed that everything looked good and was healing well, and advised me to have another check-up in my home country after six months. Now, one month later, I am very happy with the outcome and my decision to have the procedure done. If anyone has any questions, please put them in the comments and I will be more than happy to assist as I was nervous when I read the original comments so if I can help someone - let me know! Thank you Prof Anil and the Team for your professionalism and helping me to see the world without glasses!

SUMMARY: I chose the ReLEx SMILE surgery package at Dunyagoz Etiler for 2.200 EUR and overall had a very positive medical outcome with excellent vision improvement. The surgery itself was smooth, professional, and reassuring. However, there were some organizational and communication issues, especially around airport pickup and scheduling. If you know what to expect and stay proactive, the experience can be very good. PACKAGE AND COST: I had the ReLEx SMILE surgery package for 2.200 EUR at Dunyagoz Etiler last week. The package included the surgery, 2 nights acommodation with food and hospital services. What is not included is sufficient food if you eat more than very little, and the medications and eye drops needed after surgery. These cost an additional 6.000 TL. I was told this is the same price as at a pharmacy, but the hospital delivers everything directly to your room. BOOKING AND COMMUNICATION: Booking the surgery through WhatsApp was almost too easy. They asked for documentation, flight confirmation, and appointment availability, and everything was arranged very quickly. However, I did not receive any clear confirmation by email or message. After asking for a phone number, they sent a PDF with information mentioning pickup at stop sign 33. AIRPORT PICKUP: When I arrived at the airport, I went directly to the mentioned point, but I could not find stop 33. The numbering only went up to 24. I also had no phone number to call, so I spent about an hour looking around. Eventually, I heard my name being called by a man who turned out to be the pickup contact. He also sold me a SIM card and needed cash, so he used my card at an ATM. Unfortunately, the ATM kept my card. Not his fault, but it was not a great way to start the trip. ARRIVAL: The driver took us straight to the hospital. At the entrance, we were told to go to the 4th floor. The nurse who welcomed us on Sunday night, 21.12, was extremely friendly and helpful, and explained everything clearly. A big thank you to her. PRE CHECK AND HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE: The next day started with pre checks before my scheduled appointment at 10:30. Kübra was an excellent translator: well spoken, reliable, service minded, and very helpful, even though we asked many questions and made several requests. One inconvenience is that you need to ask for the WiFi password every time you leave its range and return, even inside the hospital. We went through many tests and moved quickly around the hospital. However, the times we were given were almost always moved forward by about 30 minutes. This made the day stressful, as we constantly had to be ready earlier than expected. This meant rushing bathroom breaks or eating the hospital food quickly. SURGERY DAY: Before surgery, I was given medication by a staff member who did not speak English and seemed a bit stressed, which made me slightly uneasy. I was finally ready for surgery at 14:45, and the procedure itself went as smoothly as possible. The staff in the operating room were relaxed and friendly, making jokes and saying I needed to relax before they could do ReLEx. The fist bumps and confident energy were very reassuring. During the surgery, I felt no pain at all. It was only a strange sensation to have someone working on your eye without discomfort. RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE: Immediately after surgery, I still felt no pain, only strong light sensitivity. About one hour later, I was able to sit in the room during daytime without discomfort. After sleeping for a few hours in a rather uncomfortable hospital bed, I felt completely fine and had to remind myself to wear the protective glasses they provided. RESULTS (after 1 week): After two days, I traveled to the city center of Istanbul and enjoyed noticeably improved eyesight the whole time. The blurriness gradually decreased, and light sensitivity became minimal. After one week, I only wear sunglasses when walking outside, and everything feels really good.

I had my eye laser surgery performed by Prof. Dr. Adem Anil Kubaloglu and I am very satisfied with the outcome. The professor is an extremely competent, experienced, and successful doctor who carried out the surgery excellently and guided me very well throughout the entire process. A big thank you also to Onur, our driver. He is also a very kind and friendly person. I would also like to especially mention Sabrine, the case manager. She helped us with translation, made communication much easier, and took care of many organizational tasks. Thanks to her support, everything went very smoothly and stress-free. Overall, the entire staff was very friendly, everything was well organized, the appointments were well scheduled, and the whole process was seamless. I can highly recommend Dünyagöz!

I had an excellent experience at Dünyagöz Istanbul. From the very beginning, the staff were welcoming and their communication skills were great. As I travelled from the UK, it was very reassuring to have highly fluent English-speaking staff to guide me through the process. Although there was a slight miscommunication with the contact service team prior to my arrival, Banu stepped in and immediately took matters into her own hands. She arranged my travel to the hotel and supported me throughout my treatment. Banu was absolutely fantastic — she translated everything clearly, made me feel extremely comfortable, and went above and beyond to ensure I was looked after. After my PKR laser treatment, she even gave me her number in case I needed anything. Even now that I am back in the UK, she continues to respond to any questions I have, which shows her incredible dedication and care. I would also like to give my deepest gratitude to Dr. Sezer Hacıağaoğlu. He is truly an outstanding doctor — highly knowledgeable, professional, and kind. From the very first consultation, he explained every step of the process with clarity and patience, which immediately gave me confidence and reassurance. During the procedure, he was calm, efficient, and precise, and I could feel that I was in the very best hands. What impressed me most was how he combined professionalism with genuine care — he made me feel completely comfortable and safe throughout the entire journey. Thanks to his exceptional skill, I can now see clearly without glasses or contact lenses for the first time in 18 years. It is honestly life-changing, and I cannot thank him enough. I highly recommend Dünyagöz Istanbul, especially with Dr. Sezer and the amazing support from Banu. Together, they made the whole experience smooth, comfortable, and successful, and I am so grateful for the excellent care I received.
