Samitivej is a world class hospital with great doctors. You quickly can see any specialist and have virtually any test, unlike the US. Medical care is superb. It is very reassuring living in Bangkok knowing this type of care is available. Where it breaks down (and the reason for 4 stars instead of of 5) is the cashier system. It takes forever! I’ve literally gone to the doctor with a bad cough, seen the doctor, got sent for chest x-rays and saw the doctor again where he reviewed the x-rays and prescribed medication. All of that in 70 minutes. Then I get down to the cashier and it’s 60-90 minutes just to pay them! Something has to be done about this logjam at the cashier. It’s the only thing wrong about Samitivej.

To Ward 5R Nursing Team”} I would like to express my sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all the nurses at Ward 5R for the wonderful care I received during my stay. Every single nurse was incredibly kind, gentle, and professional. You all took such good care of me that I truly felt relaxed and at ease throughout my hospitalization. Even though I know how busy and tiring your work must be, you never showed it. You always spoke politely, gave clear and helpful advice, and never made me feel uncomfortable or pressured in any way. The bed sensor alerted the nurses every time I got up to use the bathroom, and I felt quite sorry for disturbing you so often. Yet, you still came with patience and a warm attitude, which made me feel very grateful and touched. I have stayed in hospitals before, but this was the first time my blood pressure felt so stable and normal. More importantly, I felt genuinely cared for, not just as a patient, but as a person. Thank you so much for your dedication, kindness, and professionalism. I truly appreciate everything you have done for me, from the first day until my discharge. Ward 5R has left a very special and positive impression on me, and I will always remember your care with gratitude. Chuthamart B.

I sent an online inquiry and got an appointment to visit a specialist the same day. The service online was really fast. The doctor was professional. The total time i spent in this hospital from registration, seeing the doctor, payment and other pharmacy was one hour! Very impressive. I just think they can improve even further by having more signs to help you navigate the hospital as it can get confusing or by having a general reception/customer service staff right at the entrance.

We love this plastic surgery department. The doctor, Dr Oumyos- he does MOHS surgery which is probably the only place to get this skin cancer surgery in Bangkok. The whole staff is fantastic and caring. The doctor explained everything and we felt very comfortable. He was gentle and caring. Great results. We highly recommend you to consider this doctor if you are in Bangkok. Tell him the American twins sent you.

My favorite hospital in the whole world! I really like how smooth and pleasant the whole journey is. Doctors are warm and patient, staff guides you from room to room. It’s neat and nicely decorated. It doesn’t even feel like you’re in a hospital! But it’s not the most affordable of hospitals for Thailand standards. Some procedures and medicine can be extremely overpriced in comparison to other hospitals, even other private ones. I asked for a quote for a small medical procedure and it went to around 30,000 baht, which I didn’t accept; ended up finding out the same service in a different hospital for 4500 baht and it was equally good. My advice is that you ask for a quote before proceeding with any exams or procedures. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a premium hospital with reliable professionals and are not too price sensitive.
