The main doctors here are among the best in the world, and the demand for them is extremely high and it is only going to get more popular and probably more expensive as well. For the quality results they provide, you will have to pay much more at other clinics across the world, with the same waiting time most likely. Keep that in mind when reading some of the negative reviews here. This is not a «hair mill» like many hair transplant clinics in turkey, where assistants mostly do the work, and have 5+ customers a day. Here, world class surgeons do the most integral parts of the operation and they do only a few operations a day. This is why they produce good results. It also means they are very busy and you will have to be patient. The staff and doctors have a lot to do and they will do their best to accommodate you, but you will have to do some research yourself before going through with the operation. They will maybe not explain everything for you, some dont speak so good english as well and they have a lot on their hands. I found the staff to be nice and helpful despite some waiting times. I had a successful hair transplant here and got pretty much the results i wanted. the most important thing for me was a good natural result, over a «pleasant experience». you may be disappointed if you want the latter. Most of the bad reviews are people with wrong expectations and not enough research. My only negative i have is that the consultation with Dr. Panchaprateep felt a bit rushed. I obviously had a lot of questions and concerns but not everything was clearly answered. Thats why you need to be prepared with what you want etc. before going to the consultation with main doctor. She is kind of overworked it seems. I also just think its a cultural thing, as every time ive been to a doctor or clinic generally in thailand it seems like they are very eager to get done quickly, compared to in the west. Results: 10/10 «Experience»: 6/10.
I had my transplant done with Dr. Laorwong at Absolute Hair Clinic, and from start to finish it was a positive experience. The pre-op consult was not rushed at all. He took the time to look everything over carefully and designed a natural hairline, not just a straight line across the front. The clinic itself does not look like much from the outside, but inside it is clean and feels like a proper doctor’s office in the States. The staff were friendly, and post-op care is included for the next several days, so you are not just sent on your way and left to figure things out on your own. I left with medications, written instructions, a neck pillow, and a black surgical cap so your head is not exposed while you are out and about. It will take close to a year to see the full results, but based on the attention to detail and how the entire process was handled, I have high expectations. In addition to addressing the temples and thinning in the front and crown, they also placed grafts to cover a 20 year old scar, which was a big plus for me. If this review is not updated a year from now, that probably means it really did deserve the five stars. It is also worth noting that most of the negative reviews I saw were related to communication or scheduling, not botched surgeries. That actually gave me more confidence in choosing this clinic. And if you have ever received medical care in Germany, where bedside manner can be nonexistent compared to the States, you will be just fine here. If they do not hand you a bottle of water, it is not neglect. It is sitting in the lobby for you to grab yourself. I also saw a review complaining that transportation was not arranged, which I found odd. I have never been to a clinic that arranges transportation when Bolt, which is essentially the Uber equivalent, exists and is easy to use.
Very bad experience with Dr Rachatorn/Ratchaporn, firstly I had really a difficult getting in contact with the clinic to schedule an appt and had to come in person to schedule, when I finally got the appointment for 7:30 pm on a sunday, I wasn’t seen by the doctor until 8:40 and was for no more than 10 mins, I came for an extended history of hair loss and within 1 min of taking my dermascope pictures of my scalp she didn’t even care about my underlying conditions with scalp inflammation and said it doesn’t cause hair loss which is untrue especially if it’s been chronic like my case , and diagnosed me with female pattern, hair loss, and although that was an appropriate diagnosis failed to notify me that I also had telogen effluvium as well, which made me question her medical expertise. The lack of patient care is something that has truly shocked me, she proceeded to tell me doctors in Thailand, typically only spend five minutes with a patient, which is actually ridiculous considering I had a long history of hair loss that not only related to scalp inflammation, but also related to hormonal issues for which she referred me to a gynecologist because she couldn’t holistically look at the hair loss as a whole. she also insisted that she was focused on hair transplant surgery which is not an excuse for a lack of hair loss diagnosis and proper hair loss consultation. Will not be back. I appreciate they only charged me 200 baht for the visit bc I didn’t get ANYTHING out of it. And yes I understand I don’t live in thailand so it’s hard to treat but I at least expected better root cause analysis and diagnosis from the clinic.
Though, it has only been 4 weeks, I am very happy with how my procedure went. One thing that stood out the me was how little swelling I had, and very minor scabbing. I have seen videos and pictures of people online who had huge scabs and intense swelling. Mine was nothing like that, it was easy and I had very little pain. I currently have shock loss, but was loving my new hairline for the first few weeks. I can’t wait for it to grow back in. Dr. Laorwong did a great job, matching the angles of my existing hair pattern! I do want a tiny adjustment to the hairline but I need to see how it grown in first. I recommend this clinic if you want a professional job, that doesn’t damage your scalp and cause major swelling and scabbing.
My husband paid $10,000 USD for a hair transplant at this clinic, and the customer service was extremely poor — 0/10. From the moment you walk in, there is no welcome at all. No greeting, no “hello,” nothing. The staff look angry and grumpy, with no smiles or basic courtesy. Appointment times are completely mishandled — you’re told to come at 3 PM and then made to wait for two hours. There is no explanation and no apology; staff simply walk around with irritated, indifferent expressions. There is also no basic hospitality. Despite the high price paid for a hair transplant service, you are not even offered water, tea, or coffee — you have to make your own and practically beg the staff for attention. After the surgery, which finished around midnight, the least they could have offered was a cab or transportation back to the hotel. Instead, they showed no care or concern and told us to arrange our own transport in the middle of the night. The doctor may be skilled, but the reception staff and nurses are absolutely ignorant, rude, and unprofessional. Oh and they greet some selected local Thai customers but not foreigners at all.
